Our own team, in the UK
Everyone who builds Avio and Adeptis works for us, here in the UK. We don't outsource development and we don't resell someone else's product. When you talk to us about a change, you're talking to the people who'll make it.
Most of our development team are publishing experts as well as developers. They've spent years on subscription and circulation systems, so you don't have to explain what a lapsed reader, a request source or an issue-based revenue release is. That alone saves weeks.
AI coding tools, used carefully
We use agentic development: AI tools that can write and change code across a whole system, working to instructions from our developers. Used carelessly, that's a recipe for a mess. Used properly, it's the biggest jump in productivity we've seen in decades of building software.
Here's what "properly" means for us:
- A person who understands publishing writes the brief. What should happen, for whom, and how we'll know it's right. The AI never decides what to build.
- The AI does the heavy lifting. It writes the code, the tests and the documentation to that brief, inside our existing systems and coding standards.
- A developer reviews every change. Nothing goes live because a machine said it was fine. A person reads it, tests it and signs it off.
- We check it against real numbers. Counts, totals and reports are compared with known figures before release, because in subscriptions a small error is still a wrong invoice.
- Security stays the same. Two-factor login, permissions and audit trails apply to everything, however it was written. We're Cyber Essentials certified.
What that means for you
The practical upshot is a supplier who says yes more often and delivers faster. A new export for your mailing house, an extra field on the controlled circulation form, a report your finance director has been asking for since last year: these are days of work for us, not a project.
It also keeps us honest on cost. When change is quick, we don't need to bundle it into big expensive releases.
We run projects with AgilePM
Bigger pieces of work, like moving you onto Avio from another system, follow the AgilePM method, which is built on DSDM. In plain English: we agree a fixed timetable, put the must-haves first, and show you working software early and often, so there are no surprises at the end.
Want to see it for yourself?
The best proof is to give us something you've been waiting on from your current supplier and see how quickly we come back. Book a demo, or just tell us what you need.
