Questions people ask about Avio

Who is Avio for?

Larger publishers and media owners: typically groups running several titles or product families, with a mix of paid, trial and free controlled circulation readers, corporate and site-licence deals, and international sales. If you need finance-grade reporting rather than just a mailing list, Avio is built for you.

Can we move to Avio from another subscription system?

Yes. Moving from another system is something we plan with you: we look at your current data first, then agree how it maps into Avio's customers, addresses, orders and products before anything is loaded. Our team has run subscription and circulation systems for publishers for decades, so we know where the awkward bits usually are.

Does Avio handle print and digital?

Yes. Products and prices can be print, digital or both, with separate VAT rates for each. Avio runs issue schedules, galleys and mailing files for print, and manages digital access through named seats, corporate licences and IP ranges that your website or paywall can check through the read-only API.

Does Avio support controlled circulation and audits?

Yes. A dedicated controlled circulation wizard captures request source and method, record type, status codes and qualification questions, which is the data audit bodies such as ABC and BPA require. Circulation can be counted as at any date for point-in-time figures. If you want help preparing for the audit itself, our bureau team does that too.

How is Avio different from Adeptis?

They share the same subscription and circulation disciplines, but Avio is for larger publishers and groups with heavier volumes and complex requirements: multi-currency, corporate and multi-seat licences, and finance-grade accounting with deferred revenue and a VAT rules engine. Adeptis is the all-in-one platform for SME publishers and also covers news sites, advertising, the media pack, email insight and prospecting. Our Avio or Adeptis page sets out the differences.

Where did Avio come from, and who supports it?

Avio began as software Adept acquired from CDS Global, where it was called Achieve, and has since been developed into Avio by our in-house UK development team. The same team supports it. We use AI coding tools under tight human control, so changes and fixes ship in days rather than months.
